Match of
the Day
Burton tailor made
|
|
Ilkeston Town 0-1 Guiseley
After a generally even
first half with only one scare
of concern Guiseley, against a
strengthening wind, gradually
picked up the pace and second
half. After an even
initial period and the
introduction of Bambrook and
Pugh Guiseley began to create
more openings and chances.
On 72 minutes the visitors took
the chance that mattered when
Burton followed up his own
parried shot to finish well and
seal a close encounter over
their table topping hosts.
Guiseley's win maintains their
unbeaten run and closes the gap
at the top of the Unibond
Premier table to 2 points. |

rising weekly, to attain a
sizeable amount for when the
main prize is won. Details
of the jackpot win can be viewed
via the weekly lottery
link on left menu panel.
You have to be in it to win it
so if interested contact David
Ingleson in the social club on

Squad Quality Pays Dividends |
 |
After a poor first half
Guiseley finally took control in
the second half and
Burton and Brown provided a two goals cushion
before Skiba restored Garforth's
hopes which were then summarily
squashed by Tiani to set up a
home tie with Sheffield FC on Sat 11th
Oct.

Bambrook opts in |
|
Simeon Bambrook
signed on the dotted line for
Guiseley AFC last Tuesday night
to add further competition for
places in an already strong
squad. The versatile
player has moved from Farsley
Celtic and brings a wealth of
Conference National and North as
well as Unibond League
experience from playing there
amongst others in his long
semi-pro. career. At 36
Simeon, originally a lethal
striker for all his clubs, has a
shrewd football brain and
developed the ability to play
utility roles in attack,
midfield or defence as needed.

Guiseley raid useful away point |
|
Boston United 2-2
Guiseley
Burton and Lloyd goals earn
Guiseley a draw point in an
entertaining but drama packed
match. Goalkeeper Skiba
kept Guiseley in the game with
several top class saves
including a penalty but was then
sent off late on for handling
outside the penalty area.
With all three subs already on
Burton deputised successfully to
see out the draw until full-time.
With Guiseley having the upper
hand first half Boston made more
of a fight of it in the second
in a match that could have gone
either way..
