Guiseley were the
architects of their own downfall in this keenly
contested Leeds derby.
After a fairly even
first 30 minutes the home side
took the lead through Dave Merris who converted Anthony Lloyds cross.
James Hanson then delivered a ball in from the right for Adam Muller to
shoot beyond Gavin Phillips into the corner to put the hosts two up.
Piotr
Skiba pulled off two reaction saves only for Mark Piper to halve the
deficit just before the interval.
Lee Connor missed a good chance to put the visitors level before
Hanson’s
overhead kick struck the underside of the bar before being cleared.
Garforth substitute Andy Hayward secured a deserved replay for Garforth,
converting the easiest of chances with ten minutes left having
been left
unmarked at the far post. Guiseley’s misery was then compounded as
Muller
was dismissed for an off the ball incident. |
