Guiseley 5:0
Ossett Town |
Guiseley Reserves hastily re-arranged a game when the
pitch became available following North Ferriby's involvement in the FA
Cup re-play. Ossett Town were enticed to Nethermoor which gave some of
Steve's first team fringe players a chance for a run out in preparation
for our FA Cup tie against Garforth Town on Saturday.
In a 5-0 win for Guiseley Dan Husband, Lee Pugh and Brice Tiani were
glad to get a game in and Piotr Skiba back from his one match ban had a
run out against his old club. Brice was on fire and netted two goals,
one form the penalty spot, Liam Robinson helped us to 3-0 and then
substitute Luke Hudson produced two cracking goals in a comprehensive
win.
Brian Tate who managed Guiseley Reserves for a very short spell was in
charge of Ossett and our former player Ollie Dell popped up playing for
a second club against us within five games! Ollie started out with
Pontefract Collieries in our opening game. He was fancying Thackley next
but we told him we have already played them! The Reserves have lost just
one of their opening six games - to a Hyde side heavily sprinkled with
first team players so no shame in that.
A big thank you to the lads who had to step aside to let the fringe
players have a game and still came to watch Dean Henderson, Mark Wilby
take a bow! The Reserves are at Harrogate Railway next Wednesday night,
support welcome.
