Thu 27 Mar Guiseley sign Lee Crooks

LEE CROOKS... Caught the eye for Dale against Oldham on Saturday.Guiseley last night signed former Premiership player Lee Crooks from Rochdale.  The 30 year old combative midfielder has proven influential and playing experience from a long football league career which includes spells at Barnsley and at Bradford City under Colin Todd's managership.

Wed 26 Mar Reserves slip up

Guiseley Res. 1-3 Stalybridge C. Res.
A 2nd half late forced own goal by Stalybridge was to little to late for the Reserves and scant reward for the general work and purpose shown by this young team.  After a good 1st half which Guiseley largely controlled well but went into the break one goal down.  The 2nd half saw the Reserves struggle to maintain their form and Celtic go further ahead into a 3-0 lead before Guiseley rallied in worsening rainy conditions.

Fri 21 Mar Reserves draw at Wakefield

Wakefield FC Reserves 1-1Guiseley Reserves
Playing in dreadful weather conditions a youthful reserve side worked hard and deservedly led until the 87th minutes when the hosts finally managed to work a good goal to draw level.  Guiseley had much of the play and scored from a corner through John Douglas with a header.  Several players were forced to play out of position due to injuries and unavailability and three further enforced injury substitutions had to be made.  However, the team delivered a good battling display in the conditions and circumstances and provided further experience for such a young team.

Fri 21 Mar Guiseley win away again

In gale force conditions Guiseley continued their good away form by beating Whitby Town 2-1.  A 2-0 lead was established through a first half header from Fernandez and second half tap-in from Hanson which secured the three win points for Guiseley before a consolation reply for the hosts.  This now moves Guiseley into a play-off position going into Monday's important home match against Stamford at Nethermoor.  KO. 3.00pm

Yorkshire Amateur U19s 0-2 Guiseley U19s
A brace of goals for debut boy Jamie Kitching sealed this very entertaining and enthralling encounter for Guiseley at Bracken Edge.  After the disappointment of their last match the U19s needed to respond and they did this in style.  Several team changes for various reason only served to strengthen their resolve and resulted in a  forceful and hardworking performance built on a strong resistant defence and inventive open forward play.  The hosts were a good side but found their visitors in a man mood and competitive to the end in this incident packed game.
